We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a SEMH Teaching Assistant in a specialised secondary school provision in Knutsford. This full-time position involves working closely with a group of five Year 8 pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering personalised support to Year 8 students with SEMH requirements, promoting their academic and personal growth. This will contribute to the execution of Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) and implementing effective behaviour management strategies. The ideal candidate will foster students' engagement and advancement.

Salary

The daily rate for this position is £83.85, which includes statutory holiday pay. All pay rates quoted are inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.

Job Description

This long-term role will begin as soon as possible, with the possibility of a permanent school contract after a successful trial period. SEMH experience is highly beneficial for this role, and the ideal candidate will have experience in a SEMH setting. The successful candidate will receive comprehensive training and support to ensure their success in this position.

The primary responsibility of this role is to provide tailored support to students with SEMH needs, creating a positive and inclusive learning environment. This involves collaborating with teachers and other professionals to develop and implement student-centered plans, ensuring each child receives the necessary care and attention.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, applicants must possess the relevant qualifications and experience required for a Teaching Assistant position. This includes a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and completion of child protection and prevent duty training.

A strong understanding of SEMH needs and the ability to work effectively with students who require additional support are essential for this position. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, patience, and empathy, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
