Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Learning Support Assistant. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children with special educational needs in a dynamic and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized support to students with special educational needs, promoting their social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement personalized learning plans.
  • Assist with lesson planning, preparation, and delivery, ensuring that students receive a high-quality education.
  • Support students with communication and interaction difficulties, including those with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs).
  • Help students develop key life skills, such as social skills, emotional regulation, and independence.
  • Work closely with the school's pastoral team to provide a safe and supportive learning environment.

Requirements

  • Relevant qualifications and experience working with children with special educational needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach.
  • Knowledge of child development, special educational needs, and inclusive practices.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
