Position: Teaching Assistant

Location: SEMH Residential School

Type: Full-Time

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at a SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) residential school. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children who face challenges in mainstream education and a passion for making a positive impact.

Key Responsibilities
  • Student Support: Provide tailored support to students, helping them engage with learning and feel included in the school community.
  • Building Relationships: Dedicate time to building strong, trusting relationships with both students and staff, ensuring that all needs are met in a supportive and collaborative environment.
  • Resilience: Demonstrate resilience in the face of challenges, consistently maintaining a calm and positive demeanor.
  • Empathy: Show genuine empathy and understanding towards students, creating a safe and comfortable environment that encourages learning and personal growth.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with teachers and other professionals to ensure the holistic well-being of each student.
Ideal Candidate
  • Experience: Previous experience working with children in SEMH settings or those who have struggled in mainstream schools.
  • Dedication: A commitment to a full-time role, demonstrating reliability and a strong work ethic.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This is a temporary position, with the option to make it permanent at a later date.
