Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and caring individual to join our team as a Learning Support Assistant, specializing in supporting children with special educational needs. As a member of our team, you will play a vital role in creating a safe and inclusive learning environment for our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with special educational needs, promoting their social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement personalized learning plans.
  • Assist with lesson planning, preparation, and delivery, ensuring that students receive a high-quality education.
  • Support students with communication and interaction difficulties, including those with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Adverse Childhood Experiences.
  • Help students develop key life skills, such as social skills, emotional regulation, and independence.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to stay up-to-date with best practices and policies.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs, preferably in a school setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach.
  • Basic knowledge of special educational needs and the ability to learn and develop skills in this area.
  • Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and child protection training.
