Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and caring Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with children and young people with special educational needs, providing individualized support to help them achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one support to students with special educational needs, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized learning plans.
  • Assist with the planning and delivery of lessons, including preparing materials and resources.
  • Support students with communication and interaction difficulties, including those with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Adverse Childhood Experiences.
  • Help students to develop social skills, including relationships with peers and adults.
  • Assist with the management of challenging behavior, using positive behavior support strategies.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children and young people with special educational needs.
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
