About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Information Governance Assistant to join our team at the University of Cumbria. As a key member of our Information Governance team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our institution adheres to key legislation, including the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Information Governance Manager in ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations
  • Work closely with colleagues across the organisation to respond to incoming information requests
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Information Governance practices and procedures
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure effective information governance and compliance

  • Strong understanding of data protection and information governance principles
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
