We are seeking an experienced Pediatric Intensive Care Specialist to join our team on a six-month rotational basis. This innovative opportunity will provide you with the chance to work in a forward-thinking department within NHS Ayrshire and Arran.

The role aims to increase exposure to critically unwell patients, enhancing your portfolio and competitiveness in future national recruitment applications.

Successful candidates will have completed the ACCS training programme or possess anaesthetic training. You will be expected to participate in ward rounds, MDT meetings, and reviewing patients referred to Critical Care in both the Emergency Department and wards.

You will also commit to providing out-of-hours cover on the UHC site and scheduled daytime sessions in UHC and UHA Critical Care. Your development time may include a proportion of spending in the Department of Anaesthesia if required.

Our successful applicants will have access to support for projects in various areas of interest, including treatment escalation planning, recovery after intensive care, paediatric anaesthesia, and more. They will be encouraged to keep a portfolio documenting their critical care progression and participate in audit, education, and quality improvement projects.

The appointment is for 6 months (whole-time) commencing in February, with a salary range of £45,504 - £71,550. A 50% pay supplement will be paid for out-of-hours working and emergency duty commitments.
