About the Job

This Behaviour Support Assistant role is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate in psychology or criminology to make a real difference in the lives of young people. You will be working in a mainstream primary school in Chippenham, providing emotional support and promoting positive habits to help students overcome challenging behaviour.

You will have the chance to work closely with trained professionals, including SENCOs, Educational Psychologists, and Occupational Therapists, to develop and implement effective behaviour strategies. Your role will involve implementing specific interventions, collaborating with teachers and other staff members, and contributing to a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting students with challenging behaviour in a mainstream primary school setting
  • Developing and implementing behaviour strategies with the support of trained professionals
  • Providing emotional support and promoting positive habits among students
  • Collaborating with teachers and other staff members to ensure consistency and effectiveness

What We Are Looking For:

  • Degree in Psychology or Criminology (or related field)
  • Recent graduate or relevant experience in education or social care
  • Passion for working with children and supporting those with challenging behaviour
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Estimated Salary: £30,000 per annum
