Digital Preservation Specialist

Leveraging cutting-edge technology, we are seeking a highly skilled Digital Brand to join our team. As a key member of our Digital Preservation Coalition, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our digital future.
Job Purpose:
Within our Digital Preservation Function, you will report into our Global Marketing Services team. Your dotted line will exist to a number of other functions and departments, including Corporate Legal/Company Secretariat, ETS workplace services, and Global Marketing teams.
You will curate and collect Unilever's history, ensuring compliance with Unilever's Data Retention Standard. Based in Port Sunlight, you will work with a mix of professional and administrative staff to connect the business with its amazing history.
Our team holds extensive digital content of long-term value to Unilever, allowing us to continue to add to our internationally significant archive collections. It is our ambition to connect with more systems in Unilever to preserve digital content of long-term value and create a complete digital archive that supports future exploration and understanding of Unilever and its brands.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting the Global Head of Digital Preservation with advocacy, strategy, and policy development relating to Digital Preservation.
- Leading on ingest of born digital and digitised content and ingest workflows and processes for data from Unilever systems such as SharePoint.
- Overseeing and managing the digitisation and migration of Audio Visual material.
- Leading the day-to-day operations of our Digital Archive System – Preservica.
- Leading contact with vendor.
- Systems review - upgrades and updates/test plans and team cascades.
- Creating and maintaining manuals and training for Digital Preservation team.
- Conducting monthly audit and statistics for Digital Preservation Senior Leadership Team; checking daily systems logs.
- Supervising staff working on Digital Preservation projects and work.
- Representing Digital Preservation within the Digital Preservation Community and researching Best Practice in Digital Preservation and Collection digitisation.
- Developing project and budget proposals relating to Digital Preservation and Digitisation.
- Conducting the annual DPC Rapid Assessment Model and NDSA Audit.
- Seeking out continuous improvements as to how we manage Digital Preservation in Unilever and ensuring we are using the most efficient methods, for example, assessment of additional tools Digital Preservation needs to capture digital archives such as Social media/Website archiving.
- Supporting building and maintaining Digital Preservation's public front end/Digital Rewire programme.
- Advocacy for Digital Preservation and building strong relationships between technical and non-technical colleagues.
