Digital Preservation Specialist

At the Digital Preservation Coalition, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Digital Brand. This is an exciting opportunity to work with our team to preserve and make accessible Unilever's rich history and digital content.
Job Purpose:The successful candidate will be responsible for curating and collecting Unilever's digital content, ensuring compliance with our Data Retention Standard, and connecting the business with its amazing history. Based in Port Sunlight, the team is a mix of professional and administrative staff.
Responsibilities:- Support the Global Head of Digital Preservation with advocacy, strategy, and policy development relating to Digital Preservation.
- Lead on ingest of born digital and digitised content and ingest workflows and processes for data from Unilever systems such as SharePoint.
- Oversee and manage the digitisation and migration of Audio Visual material.
- Lead the day-to-day operations of our Digital Archive System – Preservica.
- Lead contact with vendor.
- Systems review - upgrades and updates/test plans and team cascades.
- Create and maintain manuals and training for Digital Preservation team.
- Conduct monthly audit and statistics for Digital Preservation Senior Leadership Team; checking daily systems logs.
- Supervising staff working on Digital Preservation projects and work.
- Represent Digital Preservation within the Digital Preservation Community and research Best Practice in Digital Preservation and Collection digitisation.
- Develop project and budget proposals relating to Digital Preservation and Digitisation.
- Conduct the annual DPC Rapid Assessment Model and NDSA Audit.
- Seeking out continuous improvements as to how we manage Digital Preservation in Unilever and ensure we are using the most efficient methods, for example, assessment of additional tools UARM needs to capture digital archives such as Social media/Website archiving.
- Support building and maintaining Digital Preservation's public front end/Digital Rewire programme.
- Advocacy for Digital Preservation and building strong relationships between technical and non-technical colleagues.
