Nuclear Consultants Sought for Prestigious Role

We are seeking highly skilled Criticality Consultants to join our client, the National Nuclear Laboratory, in their Safety, Security & Safeguards team. As a Criticality Consultant, you will play a key role in supporting this esteemed organisation in using nuclear energy and science to benefit society.
About the JobThe Criticality Consultant will be responsible for delivering new developments, from advanced modular reactors, clean energy, nuclear medicine, new fuel types, and new reprocessing processes in addition to supporting existing sites and processes, including decommissioning.
- Building relationships with safety, technical and delivery teams in NNL, the NNL Focus Area leads, customers, and external specialists in the field of criticality safety.
- Shaping, guiding, and reviewing the technical delivery of projects to ensure they achieve agreed objectives.
- Leading technical delivery of projects in the criticality area to time, cost, quality, value, and service requirements (working independently). Customers may include any UK civil or defence nuclear facility or operator (including NNL laboratories).
- Leading NNL's criticality support consultancy to external customers.
- Providing criticality support to multi-disciplinary teams addressing safety challenges.
- Delivering projects to the required time, cost, and quality meeting customer expectations.
In return for your expertise, we offer a competitive salary of around £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience. The location of this role is flexible and can be based at Sellafield, Workington, Preston or Risley.
