Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Matron to join our housekeeping team at a prestigious private boarding school. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the supervision and care of students in their division, working closely with the Housemistress and Assistant Housemaster.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and care for students in their division, ensuring their health, well-being, and safety.
  • Manage housekeeping tasks, including cleaning and laundry, to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and organization.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with students, parents, and guardians, demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Work collaboratively with the housekeeping team to ensure the smooth operation of the school's facilities.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures to ensure the school's high standards are maintained.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and staff.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of the needs of students and the importance of maintaining a safe and supportive environment.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records and reports.
  • Current driving license and a flexible approach to working hours, including evenings and weekends.
