Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Search, working in an urgent care centre based in Reading. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in wound management, routine injections, and minor injuries and illnesses.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Wound Management: Provide expert care for patients with wounds, including assessment, treatment, and follow-up care.
  2. Routine Injections: Administer prescribed injections in a safe and efficient manner.
  3. Minor Injuries and Illnesses: Assess and treat patients with minor injuries and illnesses, including CVD risk assessments and Q risk interpretation and assessments.
  4. Home Visits: Conduct home visits for housebound patients, including routine checks and flu vaccines.
  5. Referrals: Refer patients to specialist services, including podiatry, counselling, audiology, and other relevant services.
  6. Specimen Management: Ensure all specimens are checked and sent to the laboratory as required.
  7. Quality of Care: Maintain high standards of quality care, including QOF, read coding, and strategies to provide holistic healthcare.
  8. Leadership and Education: Participate in the education of students of all disciplines and lead on infection control in line with guidelines and policies.
  9. Patient Care: Advise patients and relatives/carers on general health care and ailments, with referral to GPs as necessary.
Requirements
  1. Regulated Healthcare Professional: Be a regulated healthcare professional with current registration.
  2. Advanced Clinical Assessment: Have relevant Master's level modules, including Advanced Clinical Assessment & Management and Consultation Skills (or equivalent skills and experience).
  3. Prescribing: Be registered as a non-medical prescriber with the relevant regulator or have access to PGD (V300).
  4. Experience: Have experience of treating minor injury and minor illness.
Desirable Qualifications
  1. Leadership: Have leadership modules/experience.
  2. Paediatric Experience: Have paediatric experience with the ability to recognise the sick child.
  3. Long Term Conditions: Have experience with long term conditions.
