Role Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Gleneagles Day Opportunities Team as a Social Care Officer. As a vital member of our team, you will work creatively to support individuals with learning disabilities to realise their full potential in their communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will support and enable individuals to access and participate in a variety of group activities within community and building-based settings to work towards their identified outcomes.
  • You will be required to communicate effectively to build relationships with service users, families, colleagues, and other internal/external agencies to ensure a quality care provision.

Requirements

  • You should have experience of working with vulnerable adults who have learning and/or physical disabilities, autism spectrum conditions, and other varied needs.
  • You should have excellent communication skills which will enable you to communicate effectively with service users, their families, your colleagues, and other internal and external agencies.
  • You will be responsible for undertaking link worker duties, including file maintenance, coordinating and chairing reviews, formulating and developing personal plans to meet specified and future outcomes.

Desirable Qualities

  • You should have an awareness of general workplace health and safety requirements.
  • You may have to carry out handling and moving, CALM Physical intervention, or First Aid tasks as part of this role, and training will be provided.
