Senior Leadership Manager

A highly skilled senior leadership opportunity has arisen for a Senior Leadership Manager to drive business growth and manage projects in civil and structural design consultancy based in Glasgow.

This role will oversee project development from inception to implementation and handover, catering to both public and private sectors.

Main Responsibilities
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders, external partners, and clients to build strong relationships and ensure successful project delivery.
  • Manage departmental profit and loss (P&L), focusing on increasing profitability and winning new contracts.
  • Take ownership of the Scotland office, shaping its direction and growth, and exploring innovative approaches to project management.
  • Lead a well-established team, providing guidance, support, and leadership to ensure continued success and high performance.
  • Negotiate tenders and contracts with clients, ensuring agreements are competitive, compliant, and reviewed thoroughly.
  • Monitor the office's financial performance, reporting to the company director, and ensuring profitability targets are met.
  • Stay up-to-date with market trends and key players, particularly tier 1 companies, as they are major clients.
  • Maintain team self-sufficiency and make strategic decisions when required.
  • Implement quality assurance processes to align design outputs and construction activities with project specifications, industry standards, and client expectations.
Salary Package

A highly competitive salary package exceeding £90,000 per annum, inclusive of bonus and benefits.

Requirements
  • Previous experience in senior or executive roles at a rail design consultancy.
  • Proven track record of managing departmental P&L responsibilities.
  • Civil engineering background with expertise in rail design.
  • Excellent stakeholder and client management skills.
  • Commercial and engineering knowledge, including tender negotiation and contract management.
  • High level of self-sufficiency and drive to succeed.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Scottish market, particularly within the rail sector.
  • Civil Engineering degree
  • Chartered Engineer status desirable
