Tutor Role Description

This tutor position requires a skilled educator to work closely with students who need personalized support due to complex needs or challenging circumstances.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with students who experience dysregulation or have SEN, as well as excellent adaptability and creativity when delivering lessons.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Personalized Learning Plans: Develop and implement tailored learning plans to support students' unique needs and goals.
  • Flexible Teaching Methods: Utilize trauma-informed and therapeutic techniques to engage students with complex needs, and adapt lesson plans to suit individual requirements.
  • Community Outreach: Travel to various locations to meet students, including homes and community settings.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of sessions, including attendance, progress, and any challenges or achievements.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Essential: 1+ years of experience working with SEN students or those who experience dysregulation; Desirable: experience in outreach, one-to-one tutoring, or alternative education settings.
  • Qualifications: Preferred: teaching qualification or degree in education, psychology, or a related field; Advantageous: additional training in SEN, trauma-informed practices, or behavioural management.
  • Passion: Commitment to helping students with complex needs achieve positive outcomes.

Remuneration: Competitive hourly rate (£25+), negotiable based on experience

Location: Community and in-home settings across various locations

Work Schedule: Flexible, dependent on client needs
