Windows Server Infrastructure Specialist

About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to join Experis as a Windows Server Infrastructure Specialist, supporting a well-regarded institution recognized for its specialized services and contributions to healthcare. As a key member of the Digital team, you will play a critical role in maintaining the high standards of service and care provided by this institution.
Key Responsibilities- Server Support: Provide advanced technical support for Windows servers, while also supporting Linux Server environments.
- VMware & Storage Management: Provide expert guidance on VMware, VMware Horizon, and manage SAN and NAS storage systems.
- Disaster Recovery: Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans for server and storage infrastructure.
- Backup Management: Lead backup processes for all infrastructure systems, including specialized backups (e.g., databases).
- Automation & Scripting: Automate tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell), and maintain centralized script documentation.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of all server and storage systems, including security controls, applications, and dependencies. Provide detailed lists of supported services.
- Digital Projects: Provide technical support and project management for digital projects, including designing, implementing, and testing new server and storage infrastructure.
- Extensive experience: In managing Windows servers and working knowledge of Linux server environments.
- Proficiency: In VMware, VMware Horizon, SAN, and NAS storage systems.
- Strong experience: In disaster recovery planning and backup management.
- Proven ability: To automate tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell).
- Familiarity: With ITIL frameworks and best practices.
- Excellent documentation skills: And attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving abilities: And the capability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Participation: In an out-of-hours support rota, providing 24x7 infrastructure and applications support.
