Public Sector Accounting and Financial Reporting Manager

**Job Summary**

We are seeking an experienced Public Sector Accounting and Financial Reporting Manager to join our team at First 2 Recruit. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading our non-audit clients in the public sector, providing expert guidance on complex technical matters, and driving business development and innovation.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • **Lead Complex Technical Matters**: Oversee and provide solutions for clients on complex technical issues, including accounting challenges, new standards implementation, and financial management/governance.
  • **Business Development and Relationship Building**: Engage in business development and relationship building with clients and stakeholders to drive growth and innovation.
  • **Team Leadership**: Lead and develop a high-performing team to deliver exceptional results and ensure strong working relationships with clients.
  • **Innovation and Service Development**: Contribute to the creation of innovative service offerings that meet the evolving needs of our clients.

**Requirements**

  • **Professional Qualification**: A professional accounting qualification (ACA, ICAS, CA, ACCA, or CIPFA) with some experience in industry.
  • **Public Sector Experience**: Experience in External Audit for Local Authorities and Health bodies or within a Local Government or Health finance function.
  • **Financial Reporting Expertise**: Proficiency in IFRS and public sector financial reporting.
