Asbestos Management Specialist

The University of Cambridge is seeking an experienced asbestos professional to lead its asbestos management team. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of health and safety legislation, particularly in relation to asbestos and construction. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the university's asbestos management data is accurate and up-to-date, and for developing and implementing a risk-based programme of asbestos management surveys and reinspections.

About the Role:

  • Develop and implement asbestos management plans to ensure compliance with the Control of Asbestos Regulations (CAR).
  • Lead the asbestos team in allocating tasks, setting objectives, and monitoring performance.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure the university meets its duties under the Control of Asbestos Regulations.

Key Requirements:

  • NEBOSH National General Certificate in Health & Safety or similar.
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of health and safety legislation in respect of asbestos and construction.
  • Experience of health & safety in a complex multi-disciplinary environment.
