Asbestos Management Expertise Required

We are looking for an experienced Asbestos Manager to join our team at the University of Cambridge. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Asbestos Team and developing effective asbestos management strategies.

About the Role:

  • To act as the Appointed Person under the Control of Asbestos Regulations (CAR) for the university's operational, residential, and non-operational portfolios.
  • Lead the Asbestos Team to ensure the university meets its objectives for asbestos management, allocating tasks, setting team and individual objectives, and monitoring team performance.
  • To develop and implement Asbestos Management Plans, ensuring the university complies with its duties under the Control of Asbestos Regulations for domestic and non-domestic premises.
  • To design and deliver a risk-based programme of asbestos management surveys and re-inspections, ensuring consistency and quality of completed surveys and data.

Requirements:

  • P405 asbestos management in buildings certification.
  • NEBOSH National General Certificate in Health & Safety or similar.
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of health and safety legislation in respect of asbestos and construction.
  • Experience of health & safety in an environment with complex multi-disciplinary issues and complex building portfolios.
  • ISO Internal Auditor qualifications.
  • Ability to work within and contribute to a wide variety of teams, departments, stakeholders, and suppliers.
