Job Description

We're seeking a skilled Risk Management Specialist to join our Project Controls Team in Birmingham. As a member of this team, you'll work on high-profile construction infrastructure projects across various sectors, including energy, renewables, defence, rail, and utilities.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Facilitating the identification, assessment, and prioritization of threats, opportunities, and issues
  • Maintaining visibility of threat/opportunity trigger points to facilitate risk cost profiling, timely drawdown of risk budget, or retirement of threat/opportunity
  • Assisting with the identification and development of appropriate management responses, which are measurable and specific, along with assessing the post-mitigated positions
  • Monitoring overall risk exposure and assessing against the remaining risk budget and timeline
  • Producing and presenting fit-for-purpose risk reports, in a timely manner, to support the effective communication of threat & opportunity status and required senior management action
  • Understanding quantitative risk assessment (cost, schedule, and integrated) to inform project contingency and time risk allowance levels. Demonstrating basic to practitioner competency with tools such as Safran, @risk, PRA, or similar
  • Familiarity with web-based database/reporting tools – ARM, Xactium, Predict, Tableau, PowerBI
Requirements

We're looking for individuals who can fully demonstrate the following capabilities:

  • Industry experience such as; construction, infrastructure, engineering, automotive, or within a management consultancy
  • A working understanding of developing and implementing integrated risk management solutions across portfolios, programmes, and projects
  • Understanding of both qualitative and quantitative assessment of risk (QRSA's and QCSA's), including probabilistic modelling (@risk, PRA, Safran, or equivalent). However, industry-leading training will be provided
  • Risk and Scenario Analysis workshop facilitation
  • Development of proactive threat mitigation and opportunity exploitation
  • Broad understanding of Project Controls methodology and risk management interactions
