About the Opportunity

We are seeking an exceptional Asbestos Manager to join our team at the University of Cambridge. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a renowned institution and contribute to the development of effective asbestos management strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To manage the university's asbestos risk, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • To lead the Asbestos Team, setting clear objectives and expectations, and monitoring team performance.
  • To develop and implement Asbestos Management Plans, ensuring the university meets its duties under the Control of Asbestos Regulations.
  • To design and deliver a risk-based programme of asbestos management surveys and re-inspections.

Requirements:

  • P405 asbestos management in buildings certification.
  • NEBOSH National General Certificate in Health & Safety or similar.
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of health and safety legislation in respect of asbestos and construction.
  • Experience of health & safety in an environment with complex multi-disciplinary issues and complex building portfolios.
  • ISO Internal Auditor qualifications.
  • Ability to work within and contribute to a wide variety of teams, departments, stakeholders, and suppliers.
