RAND Europe, a leading not-for-profit research institute, seeks an experienced Research Analyst or Senior Research Analyst to join its Education, Employment, and Skills Research Group. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to critical issues in education, early years, and young people, collaborating with renowned experts on national and international projects.

The ideal candidate will possess a PhD in a social science, public policy, or related field, or equivalent relevant experience in education research. Strong project management skills, experience with a variety of research methodologies, and fluency in English are also essential.

This role involves managing research projects, conducting high-quality research, and maintaining regular communication with collaborators, clients, and funders. The successful candidate will also identify opportunities to disseminate research findings and contribute to business development activities.

In addition to a competitive salary (£30,000-£40,000 per annum), RAND Europe offers a comprehensive benefits package, including pension, holiday allowance, annual salary review, and access to learning and development opportunities.

The position requires office attendance 2-3 times a week during probation, with a flexible working arrangement. RAND Europe operates a hybrid working model, allowing employees to balance work and personal life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage research projects, including budgeting, timelines, deliverables, and delegating tasks to team members.
  • Conduct high-quality research by:
    • Developing data collection tools (data templates, surveys, interview guides).
    • Gathering data through interviews, focus groups, or other methods.
    • Analysing quantitative and qualitative data using suitable tools and software.
    • Preparing clear and concise presentations and research briefs for policymakers and other audiences.
    • Drafting sections of research reports with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain regular communication with collaborators, clients, and funders to ensure project success.
  • Identify opportunities to disseminate research findings through publications, conferences, and presentations.
  • Contribute to business development activities by seeking new research opportunities.
