Illicit Tobacco and Age-Restricted Products Compliance Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Illicit Tobacco and Age-Restricted Products Compliance Specialist to join our team at Triumph Consultants Ltd. In this exciting role, you will play a key part in helping us tackle the issues of illicit tobacco and underage sales.
About the RoleThis is an opportunity for a motivated and experienced professional to work on a temporary assignment basis, focusing on combating the sale of age-restricted and illegal products in Surrey. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for devising and carrying out interventions to assess traders' compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Your primary objective will be to identify and deter non-compliance, ensuring that those who engage in illicit activities are held accountable. You will gather evidence and produce reports that support prosecution, working closely with public health colleagues, the police, and other relevant organizations to share intelligence and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:- Intervention and Evidence Gathering: Devise and carry out interventions with minimal supervision as part of a team to assess if traders are supplying illegal products, including tobacco and vapes. Gather evidence in an appropriate legal manner when non-compliances occur.
- Reporting and Intelligence Sharing: Produce reports in compliance with legal and service requirements, detailing actions taken and outcomes achieved. Share intelligence and outcomes with relevant partners, particularly Public Health colleagues.
- Collaboration and Partnerships: Liaise with public health colleagues, the police, and other relevant organizations to devise interventions and share outcomes. Coordinate with partner organizations to support interventions and develop effective approaches to deter the sale of age-restricted and illegal products.
- Educated to 'A' level or equivalent, with the ability to evidence equivalent knowledge and skills.
- Use of a vehicle is an essential requirement.
As a valued member of our team, you can expect a competitive salary of £19.09 per hour PAYE, reflecting your skills and experience. This role offers the opportunity to work on a temporary assignment basis, with a duration of 4-5 months. You will be required to work 35-37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with occasional evening and weekend work possible. A DBS disclosure is also required for this position.
Able to travel independently, you will be working across various locations, including urban and rural areas. Your role involves handling, lifting, and carrying products, sensitive documents, and equipment, so you should be physically capable of performing these tasks. You will also need to demonstrate the ability to de-escalate conflict and manage difficult situations effectively.
