Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our Unplanned Care Therapy Team as a Senior Occupational Therapist. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work across our busy A&E and Assessment areas, including frailty at the front door, and will be responsible for assessing and treating patients, as well as providing training and development opportunities for junior staff.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assess and treat patients with complex needs in a specialist area, maintaining accurate records and contributing to the development of care plans.
  • Provide training and development opportunities for junior staff, including occupational therapy assistants and students, to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care, participating in ward rounds and contributing to the development of care plans.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of new services and initiatives, including the use of technology to enhance patient care.
  • Contribute to the development of the therapy team, including the identification of training needs and the development of training programs.

Person Specification
  • Graduate Diploma or BSc Occupational Therapy or equivalent qualification recognised by HCPC (or student Occupational Therapist with qualification pending).
  • HCPC registration.
  • Appropriate experience as a qualified Occupational Therapist.
  • Core Rotations as a Band 5 Therapist in a range of core areas: Orthopaedics, Medical or Frailty Inpatients, Neurological Rehabilitation.
  • Previous care experience.
