Facilities Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Facilities Engineer to join our team at Toolbox Technology. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities and site services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facility Maintenance and Service Management
    • Oversee daily maintenance and carry out preventive maintenance schedules to ensure the facility is well-maintained and running efficiently.
    • Ensure that both the internal and external aspects of the facility are maintained to high standards, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety systems.
    • Provide reactive maintenance duties to the fabric of the building, responding promptly to any issues that arise.
  • Health and Safety Compliance
    • Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations for the facility and third-party service providers, ensuring a safe working environment for all staff and visitors.
  • Planning / Reporting
    • Carry out weekly maintenance plans based on collected data related to preventive, corrective, and ongoing actions, ensuring that maintenance schedules are up-to-date and effective.
    • Issue maintenance job orders and maintain records of completed tasks and supplier schedules, providing accurate and timely reporting to management.
  • Improvement Initiatives
    • Carry out continuous improvement by supporting initiatives aimed at enhancing facility performance and operational efficiency, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
Requirements
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of facility management principles, including knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety systems.
  • Leadership: Ability to lead teams and oversee the work of third-party contractors effectively, ensuring that maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with diverse stakeholders, including staff, visitors, and external service providers.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficiency in monitoring KPIs and analyzing performance data to drive improvements, identifying areas for cost savings and process enhancements.
  • Project Management: Ability to plan, implement, and monitor maintenance schedules and projects effectively, ensuring that deadlines are met and budgets are managed efficiently.
  • Health and Safety Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of relevant health and safety regulations and standards, ensuring compliance and a safe working environment.
