Community Activities Coordinator

University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dynamic and engaging Activities Coordinator to join our team. As an Activities Coordinator, you will play a vital role in promoting creative and recreational activities for our patients, working closely with the multi-disciplinary team to deliver activities that meet the needs of our patients.
Main Duties- Liaise with the multi-disciplinary team to plan and deliver recreational activities that meet the needs of our patients.
- Work with patients and their relatives to identify and develop creative and recreational needs and outlets.
- Participate as an active member of the wider multi-disciplinary team, contributing to the development of effective and therapeutic relationships with patients.
- Communicate and present the progression of individual patients and/or groups, ensuring that their needs are met and their goals are achieved.
- Develop and maintain effective, therapeutic, and professional relationships with patients, including those who may be considered difficult to engage or may present as a risk to themselves or others.
- Assist, support, and encourage patients to participate in meaningful and purposeful activities and routines, promoting their overall well-being and quality of life.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of service improvement initiatives on the ward, ensuring that our patients receive the best possible care.
- Communicate the role of the Activities Coordinator and actively promote the service to ensure uptake and understanding.

Person SpecificationWe are looking for a candidate who has experience of working with elderly patients, has excellent communication and organisational skills, and is able to remain calm in high-pressure environments.
