Activity Coordinator

University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dynamic and engaging Activities Co-ordinator to join our team. As an Activities Co-ordinator, you will play a vital role in promoting creative and recreational activities for our patients, enhancing their rehabilitation experience and overall well-being.
Main Responsibilities- Liaise with the multi-disciplinary team to plan and deliver recreational activities that cater to patients' creative and recreational needs.
- Work with patients and their relatives to identify and develop activities that promote engagement, socialization, and therapeutic benefits.
- Participate in team huddles, improvements, and coordination to ensure seamless delivery of activities and services.
- Communicate and present progress of individual patients and groups to the multi-disciplinary team.
- Develop and maintain effective, therapeutic, and professional relationships with patients, including those who may be challenging to engage.
- Assist, support, and encourage patients to participate in meaningful and purposeful activities and routines.
- Contribute to service improvement initiatives on the ward, ensuring that activities and services are patient-centered and effective.

Person SpecificationWe are looking for an individual who possesses excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work autonomously and remain calm in high-pressure environments. Previous experience working with elderly patients or clients is essential, and a GCSE in maths and English is required. NHS experience and previous activity coordinator experience are desirable.
