As an Activities Coordinator, you will play a vital role in promoting creative and recreational activities for our patients, enhancing their overall well-being and quality of life.
Main Responsibilities- Liaise with the multidisciplinary team to plan and deliver recreational activities that cater to the diverse needs and interests of our patients.
- Work closely with patients and their relatives to identify and address their creative and recreational needs, ensuring a personalized approach to care.
- Participate actively in the wider multidisciplinary team, contributing to the development of effective care plans and strategies.
- Collaborate with ward staff to plan and deliver activities that promote patient engagement and participation.
- Communicate and present patient progress to the multidisciplinary team, ensuring seamless care coordination.
- Develop and maintain effective, therapeutic, and professional relationships with patients, including those who may be challenging to engage or present a risk to themselves or others.
- Assist, support, and encourage patients to participate in meaningful and purposeful activities and routines, promoting independence and self-esteem.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of service improvement initiatives on the ward, ensuring a patient-centered approach to care.
- Communicate the role and benefits of the Activities Coordinator service to patients, relatives, and staff, promoting awareness and understanding.
- GCSE in maths and English
- Experience working with elderly patients or clients
- NHS experience
- Previous experience as an Activity Coordinator
- Evidence of having undertaken own development to improve understanding of equalities issues
- Evidence of having championed diversity in previous roles
- Communication skills
- Organisational skills
- Computer literacy in Excel, with the ability to create schedules and collate data
- Ability to remain calm in high-pressure environments
- Autonomy to work independently
