Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our Unplanned Care Therapy Team at Wirral University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, providing high-quality care to patients in our busy A&E and Assessment areas.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assess and treat patients with complex needs, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Develop and implement training programs for occupational therapy staff, students, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff, ensuring they receive the necessary support and guidance to excel in their roles.
  • Participate in departmental audits, research, and service development activities to drive continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative practice and service delivery models, ensuring patient-centered care is at the forefront of all initiatives.

Person Specification
  • Graduate Diploma or BSc Occupational Therapy or equivalent qualification recognized by HCPC.
  • HCPC registration.
  • Appropriate experience as a qualified Occupational Therapist.
  • Core Rotations as a Band 5 Therapist in a range of core areas: Orthopaedics, Medical or Frailty Inpatients, Neurological Rehabilitation.
  • Previous care experience.
