A leading Not-for-Profit organisation in the UK is seeking an experienced Head of IT to join their team on a permanent basis.

Job Overview

The successful candidate will lead the technology function, working closely with senior leadership to shape the future of the organisation. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference and work with a highly regarded organisation in the sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Collaborate with the Heads of Department and the Technology team to scope, plan, monitor, and deliver projects successfully, within budget and on time.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Develop effective working relationships with senior managers across the group to translate strategic priorities into practical projects and programmes.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and inspire the Technology team to collaborate effectively to deliver on their personal targets and objectives.
  • Technical Architecture: Own the technical platforms and architecture for the technology estate, focusing on application and user experience.
  • Technical Roadmap: Establish and deliver technical roadmaps for all platforms.
  • Delivery Management: Manage technical delivery for business-driven projects, from solution design to service transition.
Requirements
  • Experience: Experience of managing suppliers in a multi-supplier environment.
  • Cyber Security: Knowledge of Cyber Security principles.
  • Technology Delivery: Broad knowledge of end-to-end technology delivery from concept to in service.
  • Project Management: Project and Programme Management skills, capable of working on multiple projects and initiatives at the same time.
  • Skillset: Stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to work with teams of varying technical abilities.
  • Tech Solutions: Some knowledge of technology solutions including Applications, Platforms, Cyber Security, Cloud, and Integration.
  • Solution Delivery: Experience of delivering technology solutions through suppliers, including defining requirements, evaluating and selecting solutions, and managing delivery and acceptance.
  • IT Architecture: Knowledge of IT architecture, including developing architecture models using TOGAF or equivalent methodology.
  • Project Tools: Knowledge of Project and Programme Management tools and techniques, for example Agile (all variants) or PRINCE2.

The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in technical leadership and project management, with experience of managing complex technology projects and teams. They will be able to demonstrate a deep understanding of technology solutions and architectures, as well as excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

The salary for this role is approximately £62,600 per annum, plus 35 days annual leave. The organisation offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing staff to split their time between the office and home.
