About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Protection & Compliance Officer to join our team at Howden Group Holdings. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for managing data rights processes, including subject access requests, and supporting oversight of all complaints in KGM.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Prepare complaints quality assurance metrics for regular reviews.
  • Liaise with claims department on regular complaint reviews.
  • Participate in meetings with third-party administrators and Financial Ombudsman Service reviews.
  • Log and respond to subject access requests, maintain and update the log, prepare reports, and liaise with the Data Protection Officer at DUAL.
  • Collate data protection metrics to report to the Data Protection Officer on a monthly basis, including data rights and data protection incidents and complaints.
  • Identify and escalate high-risk processing that may require a Data Protection Impact Assessment.
  • Support the business in improving data protection controls.
  • Establish and maintain a Record of Processing Activity.
  • Collaborate with the Data Protection Officer to ensure data protection controls are embedded into systems and practices.
  • Stay current with emerging data protection risks and trends.
  • Ensure all required online and continuing professional development training is completed as required by the business.
  • Participate in ad hoc duties as required to effectively maintain the smooth running of the department.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience of managing subject access requests and complaint management/oversight.
  • Able to prioritize workloads effectively and work to regulatory deadlines.
  • Ability to quickly understand procedural issues and implement changes.
  • Able to make quick and precise decisions.
  • Good understanding of Financial Conduct Authority regulations.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Good listening skills.
  • Ability to communicate well at all levels both verbally and in writing.
  • Able to work under pressure.
  • Awareness of market changes and influences that could affect the business.
