About The Role

This is a critical position that combines the responsibilities of a Highway Authority and Lead Local Flood Authority. As a Development Management Officer, you will play a key role in delivering proactive, future-focused service delivery.

The role offers a varied and challenging workload, including project managing the adoption of new highways infrastructure and highway improvements, assessing drawings for compliance with specifications, providing advice on Highways and Sustainable Drainage, and carrying out site inspections of new development roads and highway improvements.

You will be required to build excellent relationships within the development industry, work to challenging timescales, and represent the views of the Council in discussions with property developers, consultants, and contractors.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience within the highways sector, with a combination of technical knowledge and good communication skills. A valid driving license and use of a car are required for this role.
