This is a critical position that combines the responsibilities of a Highway Authority and Lead Local Flood Authority. As a Development Management Officer, you will play a key role in delivering proactive, future-focused service delivery to the community.
The role offers a varied and challenging workload, including project managing the adoption of new highways infrastructure and highway improvements within a specific geographical area of Lincolnshire. You will be responsible for assessing drawings to check for compliance with specifications, providing advice on Highways and Sustainable Drainage, and carrying out site inspections of new development roads and highway improvements.
You will also be expected to build excellent relationships within the development industry, work to challenging timescales, and represent the views of the Council in discussions with property developers, consultants, and contractors.
About The Team
This is a unique opportunity to join a growing and successful team that is friendly and welcoming. The team is dedicated to delivering high-quality services to the community, and you will have the opportunity to contribute to this effort.
The team provides an induction programme and a buddy system to support new officers in their role. You will have the opportunity to learn and develop your skills in a supportive and collaborative environment.
About You
We are looking for candidates who are knowledgeable and experienced in the highways sector. You will need to have a combination of technical knowledge and good communication skills to support the team in delivering the best outcomes for our customers in Lincolnshire.
You will ideally hold a HNC or Eng Tech in an appropriate discipline, but applicants with suitable industry experience will be considered. We are looking for individuals who are conscientious and personable, and who can provide regular assistance and support to the team.
Please note that this role requires you to be mobile throughout an operational area, and therefore a valid driving licence and use of a car is required.
About Our Offer
We are offering a competitive salary, a contributory pension, and a comprehensive benefits package including excellent discount schemes and cycle to work. We also offer flexible working policies, career progression opportunities, and a generous annual leave entitlement.
Further details can be found in our rewards and benefits brochure.
