About The Role

This post is critical, acting as both Highway Authority and Lead Local Flood Authority, where you will contribute to a conscientious culture of  proactive, future-focused service delivery .

There is a varied and challenging workload on offer, which includes;

  • Project managing the adoption of new highways infrastructure and highway improvements within a specific geographical area of Lincolnshire.
  • Assessing drawings to check for compliance with specifications.
  • Providing advice relating to Highways, and Sustainable Drainage.
  • Carrying out site inspections of new development roads and highway improvements.
  • Building excellent relationships within the development industry.
  • Working to challenging timescales.

You will regularly have to represent the views of the Council in discussion with property developers, consultants, contractors etc. These discussions may be complex and contentious and may require difficult negotiations. Effective communication skills are essential be able to provide careful and considered responses.

We provide an 16 week induction programme working alongside our existing officers, and a buddy system to enable 1:1 support.

About You

We are looking for candidates who are  knowledgeable and experienced  within the highways sector, able to support the team, collaborating with colleagues across the service to deliver the  best outcomes for our customers in Lincolnshire . To do this a combination of  technical knowledge  and  good communication skills  will be required .

You will ideally hold HNC or Eng Tech in appropriate discipline, however applicants with suitable industry experience will be considered.

We are looking for individuals to complement our conscientious and personable team, who provide each other with regular assistance and support.

Please note this role requires you to be mobile throughout an operational area and therefore a valid driving licence and use of a car is required.

Hybrid working is a feature of the Development Management Officer role The successful applicant will be required to attend the office regularly however there will be opportunity to work remotely.
