Highway Infrastructure Manager

This is a critical position that combines the responsibilities of a Highway Authority and Lead Local Flood Authority. As a Development Management Officer, you will play a key role in delivering proactive, future-focused service delivery.
The role offers a varied and challenging workload, including project managing the adoption of new highways infrastructure, assessing drawings for compliance, providing advice on Highways and Sustainable Drainage, and conducting site inspections. You will also be responsible for building excellent relationships with the development industry and working to challenging timescales.
Effective communication skills are essential for this role, as you will regularly represent the views of the Council in discussions with property developers, consultants, and contractors. You will need to provide careful and considered responses to complex and contentious issues.

About YouWe are seeking candidates who have a combination of technical knowledge and good communication skills. You will ideally hold a HNC or Eng Tech in an appropriate discipline, but we will consider applicants with suitable industry experience.
We are looking for individuals who are able to work collaboratively as part of a team and provide regular assistance and support to each other. The role requires you to be mobile throughout an operational area, and you will need to have a valid driving licence and use of a car.
