The Forward Trust is seeking a highly skilled Family and Safeguarding Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing support to families impacted by addiction, addressing and supporting a wide range of support needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work flexibly in a variety of settings to create care that meets the needs of the service, service users and their families in line with the recovery agenda
- Hold a small caseload of safeguarding service users
- Develop service user led recovery plans that are comprehensive, person centred and individualised
- Involve service users and their families/advocates in the planning of their care
- Complete accurate, person centred and individualised risk assessments
- Reflect the structure and aims of the substance misuse model of Psychosocial interventions
- Where necessary and appropriate to carry out outreach/home visits to ensure service users' health and wellbeing is safeguarded
Requirements:
- Knowledge of local authority safeguarding pathways and framework, for both children and adults
- Experience in recognising and responding to safeguarding concerns, working within organisational safeguarding policies
- Experience working with a range of service users with complex needs and within a 'whole family' approach
- Experience in working collaboratively with partner agencies in order to promote recovery, reduce stigma around substance misuse and reduce harm
- Good knowledge of substance misuse treatment pathways, including psychosocial and clinical treatment
