About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Performance Coach to join our team at Maximus. As a Performance Coach, you will play a critical role in driving a high-performance culture across our Employment Advisor teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, share, and model good practice and provide development support to underperforming Advisors.
  • Conduct one-to-one observations, co-facilitate appointments, and provide feedback to Advisors to ensure they have a clear understanding of high-performance behaviors.
  • Improve individual performance of Advisors through coaching, either by supporting those at risk of being placed on a performance support plan or coaching new Advisors during induction.
  • Facilitate and co-facilitate induction sessions on employability topics, such as action planning, better-off calculations, and caseload management.
  • Deliver best practice training to established teams, as agreed with line managers or through collaboration with Training and Development.
  • Closely liaise with Business Managers and Operations Managers to identify caseloads and prioritize employment Advisors.
  • Provide monthly feedback to Operations Managers on observations and themes throughout the operation.
  • Co-facilitate individual Advisor appointments to model best practice and coach Advisors to improve performance.
  • Provide verbal and written feedback to Advisors after each coaching session, with a focus on embedding learnings into working practice.
  • Undertake follow-up observations to ensure that learnings have been embedded, and review and evaluate high-performing Advisors to identify good practice and share it with the wider team.
  • Work with Training and Development colleagues to identify and roll out learning opportunities to raise performance levels across provision and Employability as a whole.
  • Support the Performance Manager with deep dive reviews of persistent areas of underperformance in branches to identify and address root cause issues.

Requirements

  • Previous work experience as an Employment Advisor or Employability Coach.
  • Proven success in achieving targets against outcomes and compliance requirements.
  • Intermediate-level proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet-based applications.
  • Excellent understanding of what behaviors and approaches result in high levels of performance.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to persuade others and challenge appropriately.
  • Ability to utilize data to inform decision-making.
  • Excellent understanding of different routes into employment, including the advertised and hidden jobs market.
  • Ability to challenge and influence job goals to align with the labor market.
  • Self-starter with strong planning and organization skills.
  • Enjoys working independently and as part of a team.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Values and supports continuing professional development.
  • Calm, rational, and objective in all situations.
  • Individual coaching skills.
