Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Supervising Social Worker to join our team at TACT East Midlands. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled social worker who is passionate about fostering and committed to delivering high-quality services to our looked-after young people.

About the Role

In this key position, you will be responsible for providing expert guidance and support to foster carers, collaborating with social workers and other professionals, and developing and implementing individualised plans that cater to the unique needs of each child. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the best possible outcomes for our young people, while also contributing to the overall success of our team.

Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing regular supervisions to foster carers, offering guidance, support, and feedback to help them navigate complex situations and develop effective strategies for supporting the needs of the young people in their care.
  • Collaborating with social workers and other professionals to ensure seamless transitions and continuous support for our young people, ensuring that their needs are met and their rights are respected.
  • Developing and implementing individualised plans that cater to the unique needs of each child, taking into account their background, personality, and any specific requirements they may have.
  • Monitoring progress, identifying areas for improvement, and making recommendations for changes to the plans as needed.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A recognized social work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
  • At least 2 years of post-qualifying experience in fostering or family placements, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality services and achieving outstanding results.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build strong relationships with foster carers, social workers, and other stakeholders.
  • A deep understanding of relevant legislation, regulations, and standards, including the Children's Act and NMS Fostering Standards.
  • The ability to work independently, prioritise tasks efficiently, and manage competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
