Foster Care Specialist

Foster care is a vital support system for children in need. As a Supervising Social Worker with TACT (The Adolescent & Children's Trust), you will play a critical role in ensuring the well-being and safety of these young individuals. In this maternity cover position, you will be responsible for supervising foster families, supporting carers, and promoting positive development among looked-after children.
About the Role
This is a fixed-term contract lasting 11 months. You will work 35 hours per week and enjoy a competitive salary of £32,822 p.a., along with an additional £1,500 OOH Allowance p.a. and a £750 Homeworking Allowance p.a. The ideal candidate will have post-qualifying experience in fostering or family placements, with a proven track record in supporting and supervising 10-12 foster families. You must also be registered with Social Work England and possess up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Fostering National Minimum Standards and Fostering regulations.
Key Responsibilities
As a Supervising Social Worker, your key responsibilities will include:
- Supervising foster families to ensure the well-being and safety of looked-after children.
- SUPPORTING CARERS IN THEIR ROLE AND PROMOTING POSITIVE DEVELOPMENT AMONG LOOKED-AFTER CHILDREN.
- Providing training and guidance to foster families on best practices and legislative requirements.
- Collaborating with other professionals to ensure comprehensive support for children and their families.
