About the Role

The Schools Project Officer is a crucial business administrative role at The Diocese of Canterbury, as you will act as the first point of contact for projects concerning the development and maintenance of school sites and buildings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the oversight of related grant funding and manage other bespoke projects such as promoting decarbonisation initiatives for church schools and organising land registrations.
  • Advise school leaders and governors in relation to school organisation and the use or development of land and buildings.
  • Act as facilitator between various internal and external teams, providing support through monitoring projects relating to school estates (building developments, maintenance and repairs).
  • Manage grants held by The Diocese of Canterbury and liaise with schools regarding suitable projects and available funding.
  • Assess the environmental impact of The Diocese of Canterbury's church schools and plan for and support schools to advance decarbonisation and energy efficiency projects.
Requirements
  • Understanding of or experience in business administration, estate management or project support.
  • Ability to apply understanding to tasks and summarise complex information clearly.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Forward thinking, adaptable and responsive to a varied work programme.
  • Supportive of the vision of The Diocese of Canterbury's Children, Young People and Education team.
