About the Role
The CATS Global Schools is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our Operations Department, you will be responsible for the smooth, efficient, and effective running of the maintenance team and school estate.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilities Management
- Develop and implement a comprehensive facilities management program, including preventative maintenance and life cycle requirements.
- Conduct regular facilities inspections and document findings.
- Line manage maintenance and caretaking staff, including holiday/sickness management, performance management, development, and training.
- Ensure efficient utilization of facility maintenance staff and manage the On Call Rota to ensure 24/7 site maintenance cover.
- Supervise maintenance and repair of facilities and equipment, allocating tasks through Sysaid and adhering to our commitment to fix issues within 24 hours.
- Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety regulations, HSE guidance, and CGS policies.
- Carry out regular risk assessments, identifying and updating any according to business needs and updated legislation.
- Update fire precaution measures to meet new legislation, training, induction, and monitoring standards.
- Ensure all company vehicles are maintained and serviced regularly, meeting road-worthy standards.
- Coordinate and monitor activities of contract suppliers while on-site, adhering to our Safeguarding Policy and checking work upon completion.
- Calculate and compare costs for goods and services to maximize cost-effectiveness.
- Negotiate, manage, and review contracts and contractor/supplier relationships to optimize delivery and cost savings.
- Oversee facility refurbishment and renovations within project costs.
- Ensure delivery schedules, quantity, and quality criteria are met.
- Verify payment and invoicing match contract pricing.
- Prepare and track facility budgets, Capex, and Opex spends.
- Monitor expenses and payments of cards and accounts.
Additional Responsibilities
- Be mindful of the need to ensure all school students receive a high level of care and discipline at all times.
- Promote the good name of the school through conduct towards students, parents, agents, and other parties, and attendance at school events.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good communication skills (English level B1 minimum) and teamwork attitude.
- Flexible and adaptable.
- Planning and organizational skills.
- Problem-solving analysis.
- Customer service-oriented.
- Experience in construction, maintenance, and all facets of building operations.
- Facilities Management experience.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Engineering or related qualification, such as construction management, or willingness to work towards.
- Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Working knowledge of principles and practices of project management, business administration, human resources, finance, and procurement/contract management.
- Solid computer and systems knowledge.
