About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Youth Development Specialist to join our team at SPACE, a leading charity dedicated to supporting young people in Devon. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality youth work services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead youth work sessions in a variety of settings, including our Barnstaple and Bideford youth centres and local communities.
  • Support the development of colleagues and volunteers, providing guidance and training as needed.
  • Co-design and deliver social action projects in the community, working closely with partners and stakeholders.
  • Plan, evaluate, and evidence youth work activities, ensuring high standards of quality and impact.
  • Help young people develop skills and put their ideas into action, providing individual support and guidance as required.
Requirements
  • Experience in youth work or a related field, with a strong understanding of the needs and challenges faced by young people.
  • Leadership and confidence, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Passion for supporting and advocating for the rights of young people, with a commitment to promoting equality and diversity.
  • Creativity and solution-focused thinking, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with young people, colleagues, and partners.
