Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team as a Young People's Advocate. The successful candidate will play a key role in building a strong and vibrant voluntary, community, and social enterprise sector in North Devon and Torridge.

About the Role:

The Young People's Advocate will work closely with local VCSE organizations, public and private sectors, and youth-focused agencies to identify needs, address gaps, and promote inclusion. This role requires a deep understanding of the challenges faced by young people in rural communities, strong communication and relationship-building skills, and a passion for community development and youth empowerment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to engage with young people and promote their involvement in community activities
  • Build and maintain relationships with local organizations and stakeholders to identify opportunities for collaboration and partnership
  • Provide support and guidance to young people to help them overcome barriers and achieve their goals
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures to ensure the inclusion and accessibility of young people in community activities

Requirements:

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the challenges faced by young people in rural communities, excellent communication and relationship-building skills, and a passion for community development and youth empowerment. Experience of working in a similar role would be an advantage.

Working Arrangements:

The appointee will be employed by project partner North Devon Voluntary Services and work from Barnstaple, with the need to travel across Northern Devon.
