Clinical/Counselling Psychologist – CYP Autism Service

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to join our Children & Young People's Autism Service. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing highly specialist psychological assessments and interventions to children and young people with autism.
Key Responsibilities- Provide highly specialist diagnostic assessments of children and young people, including standardized assessments such as ADOS 2 and ADI-R.
- Work as a member of a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) to present complex assessment information and agree on diagnostic criteria for autism.
- Provide a range of highly specialized post-diagnostic intervention services, including direct work with children and young people, group-based interventions, consultation, and training for carers and professionals.
- Supervise psychology staff, including less experienced psychologists and Assistant Psychologists.

Person Specification- Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups across the whole life course, presenting with the full range of clinical severity in various care settings.
- Ability to work effectively within safeguarding procedures in the context of a therapeutic service.
- Assessed experience of working as a qualified clinical psychologist.
- Experience working therapeutically with children and young people with significant emotional, behavioral, or mental health difficulties, and their families/carers.
- Experience of working with CYP with social and communication difficulties associated with autism.
- Experience of group work, particularly relevant for Children and Young People with ASC and their carers.
- Experience of specialist standardized assessments for ASC such as ADOS 2 or ADI-R.
- Experience of working clinically with people who present with challenging behaviors, and/or people who have communication difficulties.
- Experience of leading and contributing to the development of services.
- Experience of teaching, training, and/or professional and clinical supervision.
- Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology, including two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology.
- Registration with the Health & Care Professions Council and eligibility for registration as a Chartered Clinical or Counselling Psychologist.
- Evidence of continuing professional development as recommended by relevant professional bodies.
- Good undergraduate degree, preferably relevant to psychological therapy.
- Current registration/accreditation with appropriate bodies and current practicing certificate.
