Psychologist – Autism Assessment and Intervention

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to join our Children & Young People's Autism Service. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing highly specialist psychological assessments and interventions to children and young people with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC).
Key Responsibilities- Provide highly specialist diagnostic assessments of children and young people, including standardized assessments such as ADOS 2 and ADI-R.
- Work as a member of a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) to present complex assessment information and agree on diagnostic criteria for autism.
- Develop and deliver a range of highly specialized post-diagnostic intervention services, including direct work with children and young people, group-based interventions, and consultation and training for carers and professionals.
- Provide highly specialist psychological input to the CYP Autism Service, including supervision of psychology staff.

Person Specification- Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups across the whole life course, presenting with the full range of clinical severity across a range of care settings.
- Experience of exercising full clinical responsibility for clients' psychological care and intervention, both as a professionally qualified care co-ordinator and within the context of a multidisciplinary care plan.
- Ability to work effectively within safeguarding procedures in the context of a therapeutic service.
- Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology, including two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology.
- Registration with the Health & Care Professions Council and eligibility for registration as a Chartered Clinical or Counselling Psychologist.
- Good undergraduate degree, preferably relevant to psychological therapy.
