Job Summary

MacTaggart Scott is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Strategic Supply Chain Director to lead our procurement and supply chain function. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive supply chain strategy that aligns with our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supply Chain Strategy and Planning
    • Develop and implement a strategic supply chain plan that aligns with our business objectives and ensures optimal supplier performance.
    • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, and implement measures to ensure business continuity.
  • Procurement and Supplier Management
    • Lead the procurement function, including the development of procurement strategies and processes to meet business objectives.
    • Manage relationships with key suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure compliance with our standard terms and conditions.
  • Team Leadership and Development
    • Provide leadership and guidance to the procurement and supply chain team, and develop their skills and competencies to ensure they can meet the demands of the role.
    • Set department objectives, monitor progress, and ensure the team is working effectively to achieve business objectives.
  • Performance Metrics and Reporting
    • Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of the procurement and supply chain function.
    • Present regular reports to the leadership team on procurement and supply chain performance, and provide recommendations for improvement.
Requirements
  • Education and Qualifications
    • Relevant degree or master's degree in a business, procurement, or related field.
    • CIPS qualified minimum level 4.
    • Full existing membership of Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS).
  • Experience and Skills
    • Senior management experience, including demonstrable successful leadership of a team, with at least 3 of the last 5 years Procurement / Supply Chain Management experience specifically.
    • Change Management expert – highly collaborative & ability to lead change.
    • Strong Leadership Qualities - be able to coach and develop staff members to get the best out of the team.
    • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
    • Systems & data driven – needs knowledge of ERP systems and data analysis.
    • An open and effective communicator at all levels, from individual contributors to Senior management.
    • Competency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, Project & Power Point.
