As a Shop Manager, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the shop, including:

  • Recruiting, managing, and supporting shop volunteers to maximize sales and revenue for participating charities
  • Communicating and working effectively with other shop managers to ensure day-to-day operations are met
  • Meeting sales targets, increasing sales and profit for the shop
  • Managing the set-up processes of the shop, including processing deliveries and reporting discrepancies
  • Discussing layout with the Regional Manager and ensuring merchandising equipment is assembled in line with agreed plans
  • Managing stock levels, replenishing as needed, and liaising with the Regional Manager to request stock top-ups
  • Setting up the EPOS system and training volunteers
  • Responsible for cash handling, reconciling EPOS, and all banking procedures
  • Identifying volunteer recruitment needs and actioning recruitment campaigns in discussion with the Regional Manager
  • Covering shifts in the absence of volunteers
  • Supporting the marketing team with activities to raise the profile of the shop and organization in the local community
  • Managing rotas to ensure the shop is operational within agreed opening hours
  • Offering exceptional customer service to protect the brand and reputation of Cards for Good Causes
  • Supporting any other tasks that support the day-to-day running of the shop and team
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience across customer-facing environments
  • Experience working under your own initiative within an established commercial framework
  • Organizational skills
  • Time management skills
  • Able to demonstrate an understanding of the retail sector, ideally within a charity context
  • Leadership skills, with the ability to lead a team of people with passion and enthusiasm
  • Commercial awareness and ability to make decisions to drive revenue
  • Ability to communicate with a variety of people at different levels
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to act as an ambassador for Cards for Good Causes in their local community
  • Ability to respond with agility to changing consumer and partner needs to maximize all opportunities
  • Builds collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders built on trust and mutual respect
  • Demonstrates a passion for CFGC's vision, mission, and values
