Job Description

**Deputy Manager - YHA Brecon Beacons**

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Manager to join our team at YHA Brecon Beacons. As a Deputy Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the Hostel Manager in the day-to-day operational management of the hostel and delivering an excellent customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Hostel Manager in achieving targets across all aspects of hostel operation, including food and beverage, and maximizing revenue while controlling expenditure.
  • Manage a team of employees and occasional volunteers, providing guidance and support to ensure excellent customer service.
  • Contribute to the team effort in the day-to-day operation of the hostel, undertaking housekeeping, reception, and food and beverage tasks as required.
  • Support the management of an operational budget and delivery of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Requirements:
  • Previous leadership experience and experience managing budgets.
  • Food safety level 2 and APLH level 2 qualifications desirable.
  • Experience of managing varying pressures, including significant peaks in workload demands.
  • Excellent communication skills, timekeeping, and basic IT skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of YHA's core purpose and experience of working in a team.

  • A competitive salary range of £28,487 to £31,939 per year based on a 42.5 hour week.
