Energy Production Coordinator

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Plant Operations Specialist to join our team at Veolia. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our energy production facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide shift coverage to ensure continuous operation of our energy production facilities
  • Assist in monitoring and operating plant from the central control room
  • Coordinate control room operations to ensure consistent power production and steam turbine operation
  • Take immediate corrective action during emergencies to limit risks
  • Monitor and control process parameters, raw materials usage, and environmental emissions
  • Safely shut down and restart plant sections according to procedures
  • Perform emergency operations during unit trips and abnormal conditions
  • Carry out lockout-tagout isolations and understand applied risk hazards
  • Ensure compliance with environmental permits and report non-compliance
  • Conduct routine plant inspections, adjustments, and data collection

Requirements:

  • IT literacy and an understanding of current environmental and health and safety issues
  • Experience gained through working in a continuous process environment, preferably with experience of working shifts
  • Able to operate, or train to operate, a variety of auxiliary and fixed plant
  • Able to work a continuous rotating shift pattern, including adequate voluntary overtime to cover the workload and colleagues' absences
  • Self-motivated, able to prioritize tasks and work with minimal supervision
  • An effective team member, able to communicate well orally and in writing
  • Flexible, with a creative approach to problem-solving
